- 2012 Explorer XLT
Hi,
Just finished fixing the “wipers stay on forever” issue on my 2012 explorer. When on the next highway drive the weatherstripping of the windshield on the passenger side decided to break and fly away. Been trying to find similar examples on the forum, but most are around the a style itself being broken. Which in my case still looks perfectly fine. Attached picture has some “dirty” parts, this is just some glue from the tape I used to temporarely hold remnants in place (not the brightest idea in Atlanta heat).
So to actually properly fix it:
- Can I replace the trim without removing the a style top part (as judging by the forum these are not exactly made to be removed and put back again)? If I need to replace the top part I’ll find the experiences between oem and aftermarket, but if anyone would like to share I am all ears.
- Is there a partnumber for just the weathertrim? Or is it connected to either the top or bottom part of the a style parts?
Thanks in advance.
Rgds, Piet
