Desperatley need help.
AC compressor shut down.
I replaced it last night.
Now the AC clutch on new compressor will not engage.
Bottom end wont take refrigerant. Ive watched about 200 videos on possible solutions and ive exhausted all of them.
Ive swapped out a few compressors in the past and they were all pretty straight forward. This one is a mystery to me.
Obviously there is no freon in the lines but I can't push Freon without ac clutch engaging. New compressor came oiled. Aside from obvious working space issue the install went smooth.
Did I forget something?
Is there a new step in the process due to technological advances?

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE
Can someone point me in the right direction??

Not sure what you mean by the bottom end won't take refrigerant. Do you mean the low pressure side of the system?

Assuming you are hooked up to the right port, you should be able to fill a bucket with hot water, place the refrigerant can in the water with the valve pointing straight up, and that will help get pressurized refrigerant into the system.

Did you vacuum it?

On my 99 F250, the clutch on the compressor is engaged by a electromagentic current. It's common for them not to engage as they get older , and when that happens the solution is to adjust the shims that maintain the air gap clearance between the compressor clutch and the compressor. Here is a link, but I have NO IDEA if the current explorer is similar in design.

Is the fuse blown? My wife's kept blowing fuses right before completely failing. There is a fuse for the compressor clutch relay. Don't remember which one but I think it was a 10 amp.
