2013 Explorer Base
I have a 2013 Exploer base, from time to time, when I turn the vehicle off, the mileage display screen turns a dull blue color and the mileage stays displayed in white text. I can get out of the car and lock it and everythng and it stays displayed. The only way to get it to turn off is to turn the vehicle on and off again. Anyone ever heard of something like this? I have a video of it on my phone that I show the people at my dealership but they say that there isn't anything they can do unless they "see' the problem themselves.......it happens when the car is turned off........My car is now back there for the third time to try to get this fixed, anybody have any clue?

Welcome to the forum, Eddie! How many miles are on your Explorer? I'll do some investigating and see what I can do to help.

Welcome to the Forum EddieBaumann.:wavey:
There have been a few posts concerning other models with things like the radio not shutting off until you do a restart but I don't recall a specific incident with a Base model like you described. Crystal (FordService) the Ford rep who monitors this forum might be able to help and I see she has already responded to your post. Good luck.

Mine also does this. Door ajar goes off all the time to even when the door is closed. Also get the key in the ignition alarm when the keys are removed. Your truck must have been made on a friday on the same line as mine. The dealerships will all say they cannot duplicate the problem.

my 2011 Explorer Base does the same thing, but not often, maybe 2 times a year.

No idea what triggered it, but pretty sure your dealership won't duplicate it

Let's look into that bi-annual occurrence, hpad06. Has it happened recently? Please pass on the odometer reading; I'll see how to help.

Last time it happened it was at 50851km , now my odometer is at 54000 km

Thank you for the info, hpad06. I suggest booking an appointment with your preferred dealer. Let me know if you need help locating the nearest. Also, PM me your VIN, full name, phone number, booking arrangements, and dealer info; I'll escalate your concern to the regional customer service manager.
