I ordered a 2013 Explorer with Eco Boost 2 yrs ago. A few months later, I started smelling a strong gas odor. Brought it in and took them a while to figure out it was a defect with the fuel pump (apparently a recalled part). They replaced it. A year later, I was stranded on side of the road with my kids when the fuel pump malfunctioned a second time. The car was towed in. They said it needed a "modification" because of the new pump they put in did not connect properly. Last week, I was driving on the interstate when I started declining in speed. Made it to the dealership at 20 mph and was told it was the High Pressure fuel pump this time that was malfunctioning. Needless to say, I am very upset and considering trading it in. Has anyone else had these issues? Have they led to other more serious issues down the road?
