I am a new member and have used this forum for many helpful tips on fixing small things on my explorer. I have a bigger problem that I hope somebody could help me out on. My air conditioning is blowing hot air and I took it to my mechanic and they are saying the a/c lines to the front and rear have leaks in them. So they will need to replace all of the lines. They said that the rear auxiliary lines are corroded. I am wondering if anybody else has seen this issue? I can't find much about it online. The mechanic is quoting $1650 for the repair, because they have to remove the rear end to get to the lines. I called a Ford dealership and they said they have never heard of all of these failing and have never had to do this repair. They quoted over $2000 but said they would want to verify it to make sure all that stuff really needed to be repaired. Any insight with this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Lance
