Hey all, I've recently been having issues with the transmission in my exp. The issues showed up after being rear ended last Friday.
It wasn't severe enough to require medical attention but it damaged the bumper and damn near cut through the tow hitch cover.
Since then it's been shifting hard and clunking between park/neutral/drive.
Anyway since I had my scanner already hooked up I ran some transmission pids in forscan. Surprisingly I discovered that when driving its going through gears really fast and at what I believe are the wrong gears for the given mph.
I noticed that from a stop it shifted from 1st to 5th before it hit 30mph. It didn't even hit 2k rpms before shifting to the next gear. Also, and I'm unfamiliar with the "manual shift" feature but it keeps jumping from automatic to manual while shifting even though it's in automatic and when it's put in park it reads as neutral in forscan. This could just be how forscan reads the transmission?

The body shop owner said he has heard of people having transmission issues after being rear ended and Google has confirmed that however the insurance adjuster and independent estimator both insisted that being rear ended shouldn't affect the transmission.
The FAQ thread suggests the issue could be caused by a fee things, one of which is a bent clutch plate, would a transmission diagnostic test be able to check that or is that more a teardown to find it kind of thing?

Sorry for the book, just trying to be thorough enough to get some guidance.
