Hi,
I'm wondering if someone might have some input.
I have a 2014 Explorer Limited. MFT with navigation. When we bought the car a few months back, the guy at the Ford dealer explained we could watch movies while in park, (just like on our '10 Edge), but using the RCA jacks. Needless to say, we found out a few days later the jacks were removed from the '14's. Oh well.
I have installed a Lock-Pick and in car mini camera. Used as a baby camera for the rear facing grand babies. (Installed in cargo dome light blank, facing forward/down. Wide angle, night vision- works AWESOME!) The Lock-Pick allows me to bring up a live feed from the camera onto the nav screen whenever I want. It has more inputs for a video source, but thinking a swap of the CD player for a DVD player would be better.
Does anyone know if the CD player can be swapped straight across for a DVD player? Or, fingers crossed, is the CD player actually a DVD player that is locked to only play cd's? (As I've been told)
The set up we have going actually works really well. 4 year old gets the ipad in a headrest mount. She can watch whatever is loaded and can either use headphones, use the ipad speaker or through car stereo via Bluetooth. But occasionally we do find ourselves wishing we could just pop in a DVD real quick.
Any ideas on how we might be able to swap, add, etc a way to watch DVD's?
Thanks,
Michelle
