2013 Explorer Sport
Hello. New member and first time post here. I have recently gotten the itch to purchase a new vehicle and have taken an almost obsessive interest in the Ford Explorer Sport - such a great vehicle! Unfortunately, I have missed the window to order a 2013 Sport and to take advantage of the 0%/60 month financing incentive currently being offered on the 2013s. That leaves me with either finding a 2013 model within my price range on a lot somewhere or ordering a 2014. Because the dealerships in my home state (FL) and beyond seem to only have in their inventory Sports with the 402A equipment group and other options, which are out of my price range, and not any Sports with the lower-priced 400A equipment group, my only realistic option is to order a Sport so that I can control the options installed and stay within my price range.

Does anyone know, generally, when Ford offers the 0%/60 month financing within a given year/cycle? I have contacted Ford marketing, who was able to tell me that I can expect some incentives on the 2014 Explorers to be offered towards the end of May, but they were not able tell me specifically what those incentives will be. Because the 14s are getting ready to begin hitting the lots and the dealerships are still trying to get rid of their 2013 inventory, I do not expect any incentives offered in the near future to include the 0% financing that I need. Hopefully I am wrong, but If I am not, when should I expect to see this option become available based upon Ford's past practices? I am trying to see how long I have to wait to get the car that I really want. Any information is greatly appreciated.

As a sales manager at Autonation Ford East here in Cleveland. I can tell you that you most likely wont see 0% on the 14's til at least next year when they start building 15's. And with the crazy demand we are seeing on the Sport model I would expect them to seperate the incentives on the Sports from the other Explorers. We have gotten 3 Sports in and all sold the same day. I mean ive been with Ford 11 years now and had to order and wait to get my own Sport for going on 7 weeks now and counting. I would say if you can find a 402 Sport (and thats 98% of them) go out the 72 months and take the 1.9% to make it affordable and snach it up. Otherwise you might be waiting a while. Or lease it and buy it at the end. Any questions feel free my friend. And good luck in whatever you decide.

I would agree with 13TURBO about the 0%/60 promotion. That seems like a deal put in place to clear out existing stock to make room for new arrivals. If that is the case, it likely won't be offered until possibly this time next year, assuming Ford maintains the current manufacturing schedule.
I initially began leasing about 12 years ago because I couldn't afford/wasn't willing to pay the full price. I am now on my 5th vehicle lease and although I had pans to buy it out at lease end, I may yet again lease another since the buyout plus fees and taxes would get me about another 3 years on a new lease given my current payments.
Good luck.

The Ford rep who let me use the Sport demo for 10 days mentioned similar info on the Sport. The Ford of Canada employee purchase/lease program isn't offering the Sport right now due to retail consumer demand.

Thats a good thing though.

Thanks to you all. Although I figured that is when the 0% may come back around, I do not know if I can wait that long. I will try to find a way to make it happen before then - wife willing!

See where people are getting brochures for $750 discounts. Have a 2014 Ford Explorer on order (delivery due last of this week or sometime next week). Would love to have this discount. How can I get one? Thanks

I have moved your post to this thread. I believe the brochure has to come from Ford. I'm sure others will jump in and verify if that is correct. For any other incentives currently in place, you can visit the Ford.com website and check out the link towards the bottom of the page that show Incentives & Offers available in your area.
Good luck and welcome to the Forum melsatchwell.:wavey:

They are taking orders...so long as they have allotment. Just try another dealer. Due to the demand Ford basically tells each dealer you get X amount to sell and take orders this month, this period, this year ect...
I'm about to pull the trigger on a sport right now. My dealer says that between now and the end of the year they get 8 units. They've ordered 3 for lot, and 2 have sold and on order...meaning if 3 more people come in and buy before me...I'm SOL.
Each dealer gets different amount of allotments based on region, dealership size, sales volume ect...

I just did a 'build' on a 2014 Sport on the Ford.ca website and in the final calculations they showed a Ford Employee Pricing discount of $4842 for the one I built.

Welcome to the Forum :wavey:.
As indicated in my PM, I have merged your thread with this existing one on 'Incentives'. There is no advanced notice given about upcoming incentives or promotions. The only way to see what is available in your area code is to check the Ford website and/or speak with your dealer.

I just got an extra 500 for financing through Ford Credit. Total of $2500.

I was able to score $3750 back..... The $2000 rebate plus $750 brochure coupon and another $1000 for the "lease conquest", which was available to anyone buying a car that currently has a lease From another manufacturer. You don't have to trading it in or anything.... Ours was only like 45 days into the 3 year lease....!

Thanks! we receive the ford d plan and currently were looking to see if maybe a bigger cash rebate/back would come for the 1st of the year. Every penny helps! :) we don't qualify for the 750 off private cash since it is a d plan. :(

Question regarding the $750 coupon in the Explorer brochure. I qualify for the X plan. On the bottom of the coupon, it states cannot be used with A/D/Z plans(or something like that). No mention of X plan.

Does that mean I can use this with my X plan pricing? Thanks in advance.

You can use the 750 off with the X plan. My friend just picked up a 14 and used the coupon...

When did the order go in? There have been posts about wait times of 6 - 8 weeks. I would think 6 weeks might be optimistic. Are you not able to use the coupon at the time of ordering?

Peter

My order was placed 25 or 26th of december. Tentative build of early feb.

I didnt have the coupon when I ordered. Not sure if that would have mattered since it was all just preliminary paperwork. I guess i could call my dealer and see if they can add the coupon now.
