2015 xlt failed starter

Picked up new 2015 xlt on Halloween. 1300kms on it and went to start earlier this week - nothing except clicking sound. All electrical systems fine. Towed to dealer and diagnosis was failed starter. Anyone else experience a similar issue on such a new vehicle? Weather was below freezing and no other symptoms prior to complete failure.

I don't recall off hand about this being an issue or reading a post about replacing a starter. It's disappointing I'm sure, but it can and does happen from time to time. It isn't anything to worry about.

First one of any year of the new generation that I remember. All other non-start issues I can recall have been a bad battery

I'd have to say this is just a fluke. I've never heard of this on an Ex. I have several friends with this vehicle and this is the first I've heard of it.
