So I was getting the wrench light coming on occasionally. It says check the manual but that seemed awfully vague to me. I knew I was due for an oil change but I put it off because my wife's car was out of commission for like 6 months, I was doing some engine work on it (very slowly). I finally got my wife's care back together so I did the oil change on the Explorer. It requires 6 quarts but only 3 quarts drained out of it. I guess that wrench light was really an "idiot light".
