2016 Ford Explorer XLT
Hello,

I’m new to the forum, and Explorers in general, so forgive me if lacking in knowledge about model wide issues or recalls.

I have, over the past year, been noticing more significantly, an issue during acceleration where the car will lose about two to five hundred RPM somewhere between one and a half and three thousand for a split second at random times. This causes a very light “bump” that I can feel while getting up to speed. It only happens during acceleration and almost never happens when I’m at speed and maintaining a constant RPM.

I have used seafoam in the gas tank, as a forum here had suggested it may assist with a similar issue, and I have just recently changed my oil and air filter. I’ve asked around and been suggested it’s either a TPS issue, or a transmission issue. I’m about to sell the car for a 2020 and considering the vehicle warranty expired conveniently right before the issue started occurring, I would like to either fix any minor issue causing it, or be able to determine if any major damage has occurred.

Thank you in advance!

One of the issues with the 2016 was the throttle body. Perhaps have that checked.
