2016 PIU Rear Defroster

My 16 PIU has the defrost wires embedded in the rear hatch glass but I don't find any switch to turn it on or off. I'm guessing it's just installed from the factory but not optioned on the PIU?
Overall defrost functionality seems poor on this model on the icy mornings so I'm just looking for ways to improve the ice scraping and idle time.

Mine works on icy mornings. It's the button that has the defrost logo with the R on it next to the fan control. On my 16, it defrost the side mirrors as well.

Absolutely correct.
I'm not sure how I missed that switch but I'll blame it on old eyes.
