My rear Turbo is leaking (externally) on to the exhaust. It has been cold and has only smelled of burning oil a couple of times in the last two weeks both times on warmer days. I have gotten two estimates both have said to replace the Turbo.
Dealership told me the internals of the Turbo are going bad that is why it is leaking. Has anyone else come across this scenario? Where the turbo is bad but it leaks oil externally??
When my front Turbo leaked (also externally) under warranty they only replaced the oil lines.
I have no smoke from exhaust or loss of power. So I am confused, and asking the forum because it doesn't make sense that bad internals cause an external leak.
I would love some insight.
Thank you!
