2017 Limited, 143k miles. I noticed some yellow oil on the ground underneath and behind my driver side tire. Turned on the a/c for the first time in the year on the way home from work. I’m for sure thinking this isn’t normal. The last time I looked at the rear a/c pipes they looked very clean and not like in the photo below. I’m guessing I need to replace something. Can someone tell me what precisely has gone wrong and how to repair it? Thanks

Edit: Also. Does the front and rear A/C share the same refrigerant? Or are they truly separate systems?

The rear aux HVAC is driven by the same engine systems that run the main HVAC, and the refrigerant and coolant are shared. Its power supply is only used for the blower motor and controls. There are refrigerant and coolant lines running to the engine bay to tap into the shared circuits.
Based on the color of the leaking fluid, I wonder if it's actually antifreeze from the coolant lines. What color coolant does your vehicle have and how does it compare to what's leaking?

I have yellow coolant in the reservoir. I switched over to the Yellow at about 100k miles. So, it would match this color.

The lack of wetness on the heater hoses suggests that this is refrigerant oil coming from the forward fitting's O-ring. If you have a UV flashlight, compare a drip from that fitting on your finger to the coolant in the reservoir. Wash everything off thoroughly with soap & lots of water (followed by some brake cleaner) and watch where the first sign of the leak re-appears.

I think it is the refrigerant oil. It does seem to be coming out of the gap where the O-ring is. I’ve lost quite a lot of refrigerant oil then. How and where do I add it back to the system?

I’m buying replacement O-rings today.

It doesn't take much oil to make those drips, so don't add much (<1oz). Put it in anywhere while replacing the O-rings; it will circulate through the system.

Thanks for your help, much appreciated.
