Is there a computer program that turns selections on and off?
I am sending the new PIU (2017 delivered yesterday) to Ford for the recalls on Monday (Yes, I have an appointment).
Then I am going to ask if they have a way to turn on Blind Spot, Cross Traffic, Lane Keeping System, Rear Park Aid, Alarm, Chimes, Lighting& Silent mode in the Informational Displays.
BTW Anyone ever hear of "black out" where the dome doesn't turn on? There has to be a way to disconnect or turn that feature off too!
Something else that doesn't show up (or any switch) is the Police Engine Idle Feature. If I stop and work on a patient until the ambulance comes I need all the flashers going and in this beautiful weather (that was a joke) keeping the heater on.
I really took a good look at this PIU today and they left all kinds of lights installed. Way to cold to look to see if there are any cables left attached. I have to look and see how to take that plate off so I can install the center console from NENNO. Gotta do that in the house where it is warm. I see all kinds of cables shoved under the console plate so time to get to work.

The dealers use IDS to edit/modify programmed features. Some members here use FORScan to do much the same thing. The issue may be that the vehicle itself must have those features in the first place.
I believe the other feature you are talking about is referred to as 'Dark Car'. I believe that can be changed as well with IDS/FORScan.

As long as the vehicle is equipped with those features or they have been added, they can be enabled with FORScan. Dark Car/Silent Mode in the Body Control Module(BCM) and Instrument Panel Cluster(IPC) can also be disabled/enabled.

Dark Car/Silent Mode features are very similar however silent mode can be turned on at any time through the IPC and can also disable daytime running lights if setup to do that. Only one of these should be enabled.

Please read this guide to get started

I am maintaining an Explorer-specific spreadsheet here however I recommend using the easy configuration mode (not as-built data) to get started.

Let me know if you need any assistance in getting these features enabled on your PIU.
