2021 Ford Explorer Base
I just got a new 2021 Ford Explorer base model for a company vehicle. I am a field technician and removed the 2nd and 3rd row seats for more cargo room for equipment and parts. I now have a Rear Belt Monitor Fault message on my info display and an Air Bag warning light on my instrument panel. I'm sure its because I disconnected the wiring harnesses when I removed all the seats. I'm searching for info on how to defeat or trick the system to ignore the fact that my rear seats are removed and disconnected. I'm hoping that I just need to short a couple pins on the wiring harness connectors for each seat connector. My old vehicle was a 2014 Exlporer, it didn't have the rear seat belt monitor system.

Welcome to the Forum.
I did a quick search and found this old post but I don't know if it will work on the 6th gen Explorer. I also don't know if this issue can be 'fixed' using FORScan. Seat Belt-Minder® deactivating/activating

You have to remove the harness from the seats you removed and plug it back in.

Right after posting my thread, I saw another thread on this same topic where the guy said he did what you suggested but still had the warning displayed. Possibly just needs to be reset once the harnesses are all reconnected. Following both threads now. Thanks!
