Hi, does anyone know where the APIM on a 2021 Ford Explorer Police Utility might be ? I checked behind the AC controls and radio, but don’t see anything. My truck does have the ACM with Bluetooth , and microphone.
The PIU doesn't have one, unless it came with the 12.1 in screen or came the 65U admin console.
If it came with either of these, the AMU is located behind the rear wheel well on the passenger side and the APIM is behind the HVAC controls. The APIM is what gives these vehicles SYNC3 support.
Without either of these features, the APIM does not exist as the radio interface plugs directly into the AMU which is behind the lower center dash area. As we all know, this is the piece that blocks us from installing the admin and civilian console without moving it or working around it. These vehicles come with SYNC1 support instead.
