I was wondering if anyone with oversized tires or rims had any trouble driving with their spare. I just bought Mondera B-52's for my truck but someone said that I wouldn't be able to use my stock spare. He said it would mess up my differential. Thanks in advance,
Steve

If you have a limited slip rear, then you need to run a spare that's exactly as tall as your other tire on the rear axle. However, If your truck is 2wd, you can just switch tires and run the spare up front.

I have AWD so I was wondering if I had a flat in the back could I put the spare on the front and move a good front tire to the back. Thanks for the quick response.

with the "loose" stock LSD, you can get away with running a SLIGHTLY different sized spare for a little while. if you just got 20's, chances are you're gonna run a 275/45/20 which is about the same height as stock tires.

With AWD, all 4 tires need to be the same radius. But that's it - overall radius. It doesn't matter the rim size, tire type, or width of the tire, all that counts for the spare is overall radius.

Drastic changes in wheel/tire weight can possibly mess with ABS, AWD, or a limited slip diff; so you have to see if your spare weighs about the same as your new rims/tires.

I'm guessing I won't chance it if I have a flat. Its gonna piss me off if I get a flat though. Do you guys think that driving a short distance like a couple of miles would do a lo of damage. Thanks

If you have a 275/45/20 tire, short distances will be just fine. I've done it before, it's not a problem.
