I have a 21 Ford Explorer XLT 4cyl that makes this noise at high idle when it's warming up. Sounds like it's coming from the AC compressor. It can be heard standing near the vehicle. Dealer is not really hearing it, and Its getting frustrating trying to explain it. Wondering if anybody has heard this noise on their vehicle.

since its been 3 days... i down own a 6g, but does it sound like its locking up? or is it engaging/disengaging? can you provide video of the noise, perhaps we can explain it

This is the sound. Doesn't lock up, not even sure if it's the A/C anymore, dealer thinks it might be the turbo. Anyway, just trying to find someone else with this issue of their out there.

It actually does not, only makes the noise at high idle when it is first started. I've tried it with and without the A/C on/engaged.

so if im gettin ya right once the idle drops down its alright? im wondering too if its the turbo. if the idle drops but you make it high idle does the noise come back? conventional logic tells me that f its turbo it will be loudest when oil press is the lowest but cold starts can cause some noise too

That's right, once idle drops off the noise goes away. So yes, high oil pressure, cold start is when the noise occurs. I guess we'll see what the dealer finds out, Sounds like the turbo needs to be the new starting point. May have nothing to do with the A/C. Sad that I'm having to diagnose this, the dealer just keeps giving it back to me.
