235-70-16 vs 245-75-16

Scouting out tirerack.com and looking at tire prices, why are 235-70-16 cost more then 245-75-16?

Knowing that the 245-75-16 is little wider, little higer profile and they are less in cost then OEM's 235-70-16.

Is it because it weighs more and is that why the 70's series cost more?

I need some new tires for my "06", and cannot justify why the 70's cost more then 75's. Which anyways I think the 75 series would look better in the fender-well better anyways. I just want to LOL'd:D

Oh I know that the higher profile rubber would throw off the odo / diameter some due to bigger profile, but that's not always bad :p::thumbsup:
