265 on stock rims?

hey guys,
i am lookig into getting new tires for my 97 EB. Generally speaking, 255/70/16 seem to be more expensive than 265/70/16. So is there anything that would speak against putting 265s on my stock rims?

No, they fit the rims fine. I have 265 75R16 tires on my stock 16" rims as well as several others herer. You might get a little rubbing that is easily eliminated though. Look for the thread "Largest tires that will fit a '97 sport" for a complete discussion.

yeah, i have 265 70 r16's on my truck and i get no rubbing, ever. just make sure the tires you get have white lettering on them (i know this is a different topic, but) mine didnt have the lettering and they didnt tell me till it was too late, and it looks a little goofy - theres more sidewall on the bigger tire.
