285/75R16 on 16x7??

I've seen some people on this forum have 285/75 mounted on 16x7 wheel (stock?); will this overstress the rubber? On BFgoodrichtires.com they recommand rim width of 7.5-9.0 for 285/75R16 All-terrain. It would be great if I dont have to buy new wheels...

I've had no problems whatsoever. 23k miles on the tires with some hard offroading on them so far.

No Problem!

No problems here either. I am running those on my stock rims, and 32x11.5/16s on 16x7 American rims also.
