2nd gen dash board and cluster into 1st gen?

Ok, I'm pretty sure that the 2nd gen dash can be made to fit into the 1st gen, so basically my question is will the cluster from the gen work with the sending units from the first gens stuff, such as tachometer oil pressure, volt gauge and things like this. I've heard that the speedometer is cable driven in the first gens. does this go for all of the first gens? I'm sure you can just get the electronic speed sensor and plug that into the tranny then run a line to the new cluster (this is the way i did it in my old honda) Thanks for your help.

Hmm, Interesting question. I think you would ahve to get all the 2nd generation plugs to go into the cluster and find out witch is witch. But I think its more of a head ache then its worth. If you wanna make yours look better get white faced gauges and a chrome bezel to go around or carbon fiber
