2nd gen owner fighting with transfer issues. hello to all!

hoping to get some info here on an alternative transfer case to use that would bolt up to my 99

The V6 transfer cases uses a different bolt pattern than the V8 versions. I'm not familiar with what V6 choices there are besides the electrical BW 4405. I'd search in the 1st gen sections, which all had the V6 type TC's.

i was thinking the manual shift transfer will work from the older vehicles.

Try this thread, it's suggests what you want is a BW 1354 manual transfer case. It seems to be a bolt in and you have to install the right linkage and driveshafts.
