I was looking at the upper control arms and noticed they right hand side is two parts, and the left hand side one part.

Does anybody know why that is?

Also when replacing the right hand side, do you just change the section with the ball joint, or both parts?

The two peice right upper control arm is desiged that way in order to facilitate alingment. It is used to set the cross caster (split beteen caster on each wheel). When replacing it, you only replace the outer half.

Ah, makes sense. thanks.

Why are you replacing it?

130 k miles on the balljoints. :(
