Hello everyone,
Here is what I'm trying to accomplish. I want to lift my 99 2wd Sport a couple of inches. So far I hade done research on the forums and have come up with the following. I will be using the FabTech 3" lift spindles to lift the front and the aal that come with the kit for the back. Since I have the explorer sport w/ the monoleaf, I went to a local salvage yard and picked up a pair of rear leaf springs from a 4dr 2001 for $140. According to my research, the springs will give me about 1" on their own. I figured that if I attach the aal to the springs I would get an extra 1.5"(according to the kit). This would put me at 3" front and 2.5" back...ok here come the questions... Is there any way to get more height in the rear without using the warrior shackles? Perhaps using a different aal than the one the kit!..?? I currently have a hidden hitch that seems would get in the way if the angle of the current shackle changes...Does the warrior shakles change the current angle? Also what is the maximum tire size that I can fit if I use this kit? The kit recommends 31". Anyone know if I can fit 32" without having to trim?..Can anyone estimate the total height gain after kit and tires?.. Any help would be appreciated, I need to start buying all the parts so I can install on or before Thanksgiving Day...:redexp:

32s will probably fit heightwise, but they may too wide.... i have a hitch and was worried about the warriors hitting it... they dont... i have a pic... let me find it....

The hitch that I have is a little different. Since it’s supposed to be a hidden hitch most of it sits underneath the bumper. I will take a picture of it tonight and post it to show it to you guys. Im hoping the shackles fit but would like to get some opinions before I buy them. I have another question. If I go with the standard 31x10.5 tires should I get new wheels as well? (correct me if I'm wrong) I believe the current ones are 15x7. Should I get 15x8 and if so can anyone recommend some good ones? Some that are solid black. I've seen that rockcrawler has some solid black wheels for real cheap. Anyone have any opinion on these?

Ok I was able to take some pics at work. The first picture shows the how the hidden hitch is in the way. The next picture shows what would probably happen if I get the longer shackles. The shackle would sit on top of the hitch. Does anyone know if this is a problem? I dont want to get rid of the hitch. I need it to haul toys..

A nice add a leaf with give you more in the rear. How much more depends on which springs you put the add a leaf between

Ok, now I know that the shackle wont hit my hitch because the new springs I got have a larger parabola angle that the monoleaf. (Thanks guys)... The question that I have left is weather I can get tires larger than 31 under my truck(I’m hoping I can). Can anyone recommend anything? Tire/Wheel size, wheel BS etc?
