Hello everyone,
Here is what I'm trying to accomplish. I want to lift my 99 2wd Sport a couple of inches. So far I hade done research on the forums and have come up with the following. I will be using the FabTech 3" lift spindles to lift the front and the aal that come with the kit for the back. Since I have the explorer sport w/ the monoleaf, I went to a local salvage yard and picked up a pair of rear leaf springs from a 4dr 2001 for $140. According to my research, the springs will give me about 1" on their own. I figured that if I attach the aal to the springs I would get an extra 1.5"(according to the kit). This would put me at 3" front and 2.5" back...ok here come the questions... Is there any way to get more height in the rear without using the warrior shackles? Perhaps using a different aal than the one the kit!..?? I currently have a hidden hitch that seems would get in the way if the angle of the current shackle changes...Does the warrior shakles change the current angle? Also what is the maximum tire size that I can fit if I use this kit? The kit recommends 31". Anyone know if I can fit 32" without having to trim?..Can anyone estimate the total height gain after kit and tires?.. Any help would be appreciated, I need to start buying all the parts so I can install on or before Thanksgiving Day...:redexp:
