ok i need help please. i have a 99 x sport 2wd with the ohv 4.0 and an automatic, i have a dana axle from the front of a 90 jeep cherokee and i need a transfer case, is there an adapter i can get to mount a np205/208 to my stock trans or do i have to get one of the electric shift x t cases? an atlas 2 would be nice but out of my price range, how about a divorce t case, will the trans hold up? thanks for any input.

If you're using a 2wd tranny then you'd have to either use a divorced t-case, or change out the tail housing and output shaft. That required tranny teardown.

trans mod?

would that require any computer or sensor mods? or could i just hook the t case motor to a toggle switch?

Not sure on the electric cases. Personally I'd go manual.

manual?

do you have any idea what manual t case would bolt to my automatic?

Well seeing as you're 2wd.... none. If you did a divorced t-case then any I suppose that has a d-side drop. If you go through all the work of swapping a 4wd tail housing and output shaft the 1354 bolts on I believe.

thank you

thanks for the input you have been a great help.
