3.55 gear and 31's

i have 3:08's now with the 31's , and i think it made my tranny blow a front seal . would 3:55's be good with the 31's ? any one run them ? input ? i can put them in myself, and i have the 3:55's on hand now....or would 3:73's be the best , cuz ill get them if i need to...

I have 3.55s with 32s and it's bearable, but hell if you're already going to do the swap, do 4.10s.

yep...4:10...you will be much happier...and it iwll leave room to go up in tire size and still be ok

I agree 4:10's if your going to do a swap. Remember front & rear needs to be done. Expect $700+ unless you do them yourself. You would be ok with 3:73's if you only run 31's & never upsize further. I can't imagine what 3:08's are like. I have a lot of trouble with the 3:27's I have.

Definately 4.10s, I ran them with 31s for about 3 days before I did the SJ and 33s. Was a great combination, especially with my 5 speed.

Yes all 8.8 gears are the same.. however, not all 8.8 carriers and carrier-internals (i.e. spider gears, lockers, etc...) are the same (LS vs. non-LS)

Are you guys recommending 4.10's for him because he has an automatic? What if it's a 5 spd. with 31's? would you say 3.73's?
