If you head over to the Edge forum, there is a whole thread on the comparison by many members. I had an 2011 AWD Edge Limited that was loaded except for the DVD headrests and my lease was up in March, I had it for 29,000 miles with no problems other than minor MFT issues, but nothing to shake a stick at. I now lease an Explorer Sport with every thing except the DVD headrest again, and the only thing I miss are the BAMR (big ass moon roof) and HID's from the Edge. You sit at about the same height in both vehicles, be very conscious of that when you test drive, visibility and blind spots are about the same. Interior noise at 45 MPH is about 74 decibels for both. Mileage is about 2 to 3 MPG less in the EX around town, I was getting about 17 MPG city in the Edge, I bet the highway mileage will be about the same. If you get the EX with the 2nd row buckets definitely get the rear console, in 2013 MY it was not available but 2014 MY offers the console, spend the extra $100.00. Of course the EX Sport performance is outstanding, torque steer is more prevalent in the EX, honestly I think every other trim level of the EX is just underpowered, period. The cooled seat are a must in hot climates, I'm in Florida, so I was sold. If you do go with the Edge, get the Sport as well. Hope this helps, Good Luck.
