Hey, I'm new here.... I am trying to put a 3" body lift in my 94 Explorer XLT and was wondering If I have to take the gas tank off because I am trying to get at the one block above the gas tank and can't figure out if it is some how mounted to the frame or not. I've never done this before and don't know to much about mechanics at all, just trying to make my truck look gooooood. If you knwo what I mean ;)

Thanks for any help... :D

No. The mount is connected to the frame.

If you remove the spare tire you can see the mount as in the picture below. As you can see there is little to no room to work with the gas tank being so close.

Thanks... I'll give it another try.

Maybe I'm reading wrong but are you trying to remove the stock body mount ? Someone correct me if I'm wrong but...the body lift blocks are installed directly on top of the factory body mounts, you don't remove them. At least on the 2" BL you don't..the body mount bushings are suppose to stay, and the blocks just slide on top.

If your just trying to access the mount to install the block...I could reach mine from just under the rear fender and above the tire.
