It should. I sure as hell hope it does since I just ordered it. What htey may mean is that the rear may not work, since the Sport has a monoleaf. The add-a-leaf only works witht he 4dr leaf pcak. That problem may be fixed by swapping for a 4dr leaf pack, which I just did. Now the only thing I don't know about is whether the srping as to be over the axle. Does the 4dr have the leaf spring over or under the axle? I ordered the kit kowing he rear may not work. I got it for $496. The spindles by themselves are $429, so for the extra $70 I'm getting shocks and the rear leaf. If I can't use it, then oh well. If I can't use the back, then I'm going to do a SOA conversion and seel the a-a-l. I also got some shackles in case the a-a-l works. Either way it'll be lifted. The fronts should work fine as they fronts are the same on 2dr and 4dr.

The springs in the 4 door are under the axel as well, so the AAL will work.

I swear those guys at that shop don't know what they are talking about most of the time. They told me that the "kit wouldn't work with my Sport" but sold me the spindles by themselves cause they "would fit".

They also told me I couldn't get 33's under the fenders without a 3" body lift.

I say go for it.

The rear kit should work now that I swapped for a 4dr spring. As for the advice they gave you about the kit, I think it's a matter of luck. Some of the guys know what they are talking about, and some don't. THe guy I spoke to sorta knew, and what he didn't, he asked someone else. I spent about 20 minutes with him going over hte options. He was a great help.I wish I remembered his name.

I'm still debating whether I'll use the rear a-a-l and shackle. It may not give me enough lift. THe fronts will be 3" from the spindles, and about 1.5-2" from the TT. The a-a-l gives 1.5" and the shackles about 1-1.5". My truck is level right now, so if I do 5" in front and 3" in back... So I may just do the SOA and if needed I'll add the extra leaf or use the shackles. Probably the latter.

Mine is a tad nose down with torsions cranked all the way and the just the mono leaf SOA in the rear.

I have some new longer stainless bolts for the torsions but haven't gotten around to grinding the ends down and installing them.

I'm also fearing the harsher ride with the a-arms basicly pinned to the max ( no travel).

I guess I'm gonna have to keep a lot of junk in the cargo area to make it level. ;)

Arrrghhhh!

Just got off the phone with 4wheelparts.com. Seems the spindle kit is going to be back-ordered 3 weeks. Man oh man, gotta wait three more weeks for the to get it. I want to lift my X NOW! Well, at leat I'm paying $200 less than any other place I've found and a whopping $450 less than my local shop! I guess I'll just have to wait.

Will a ProComp or FabTech 3" spindle fit on a '96 2wd XLT? All I've seen are applications for '98-'01. Did Ford change the spindle design in '98? Thanks all.....

i have the procomp on my 96 2wd xlt and it said only for 98-01. So yes it will work.

Thank you, ZMAN. I've been hearing so much "will fit" and "won't fit" that my head is spinning. I contacted the "4WheelParts" outlet here and they called ProComp. What they found out is that there is a kit that includes just the front spindles under part number "EXP 5217". This will fit '95 - '01 2wd Explorers. Hope this helps others looking for just the 3" spindles.
