Okay y'all. I decided I'd post this to spare someone else's disappointment. I recently ordered some Fabtech FTS-98300-7 spindles for my Explorer. These are actually for a Ranger, but will work with my Explorer. I figured these two spindles would be the same, but oh contrare. The Fabtech's will make your tires stick out 1.5 inches per side on the front. Also causing you not to be able to retain your factory wheels(1/4 inch of clearance with factory wheels). The Procomps on the other hand allow you to use your factory wheels and not cause the width of your front end to be changed. I found this out with the fellas over at Generation Edge, and now hopefully I can exchange these Fabtech's for Procomps. I just thought someone may benefit from my screw up. Thanks to the fellas over at GE for making this clear.

actually the fabtech spindles make it 1.5 total in track width. if you have 16" wheels you can use stock rims and tires no problem. Its just with 15" wheels, the outer lip is really close to hitting the spindle. So if you have 16" your golden. I would not trade the fabtechs for the procomps, the fabtechs are built alittle heavier than the procomps as well.

wolfman, i ended up getting the Fabtechs. It was a whopping 150 for restocking fee's and what not. After I thought about it, the increased track width is a good thing. So now to get these suckers on.

got the Fabtech's on and love 'em. They are actually a helluva lot beefier than the Procomps and definately stockers. I can actually get away with running the stock rims for a little while. I'm going to post a registry entry when all is finished, so y'all can see what she looks like and more specs. Steering is rather reduced so that's another thing I'm going to look into. Takenitez2 do your procomps suffer from the same degredation of turning radius?
