Jason:

Are you running any kind of a lift? I thought 30x9.5 was the biggest tire you could fit on a 91-94 without a lift. I was thinking of maybe going with a spring-over conversion and coil spring spacers to fit 31x10.5's until I can afford the 5.5" suspension lift, 33x10.5 (12.5?)'s and lower gears.

Jason,
Did you realy get 31x10.5's with no lift??? I want to go with them on my '93 - I like a real aggressive look but can't go too high because clients won't be able to get in the truck. Please tell me you don't have a lift...

I'm running 31x10.5-15s on my '91XLT with stock suspension except for RS-5000 shocks. No rubbing. Some are able to run 31s and some are not. The 31s definitely look and fill the wheel well better than 30s which is what I ran for most of the truck's life. I'm running a 5spd with 3.73 limited slip rear.

I HAVE NO LIFT !it even lifted it a little. it's the best no rubbing or anything.i was worried about to much fill in the wheel well .but it's perfect.it looks so much more aggresive.yall should do it at least go try the tires on and see for your self.o i have the stock rims 15x7.

hey Jason (or anyone else who could help me out),

i was thinking of doing the same thing to my explorer, but still have many questions. its
great to know that the 31 by 10.5 BFG ats fit
on the stock rims and in the well without a lift. but here are some questions that i am wondering about:
do they handle better on the road than the firestones? also do you notice any loss of power and are you planning on changing the
gear ratio or any of the drivetrain? oh yeah, what is the difference between the BFG at's and the BFG at ko's? have you noticed any significant drop in your MPG's. i would appreciate it very much for your feed back - thanks.

I haven't noticed any differance in gas or power I just got home doing about 80 and had no problem passing anyone.I also want to know the differance between the kos and the a/ts,and as for the firestones I never had them I had some sorry tires that looked like they were off a lincoln and I'm sure you've read the posts about the firestones and how they tend to blow out all the time.Hope this helps.

If ya have 31's and you aren't planning on upgrading to even bigger then go with the 4.10. It will really perk up the acceleration in your explorer. It will also make the power more proportionate to your tire size. As far as power upgrades the cheapest and best way to start is a kkm or a k&n air filter. Then go with a new catback exhaust, headers, or a chip, hell if you can afford it go with all of them. I hope this helps a little.

The difference between the All terrain's and the all terrain KO's is a few things. The KO's have a more aggressive sidewall, a wider footprint, a line of rubber they call a rim protector that fits over the edge of the rim, and they are supposed to have about 12% better tread life. Also, the say on the whitewall, BF Goodrich All Terrain, instead of the old BF Goodrich Radial All Terrain, in otherwords, less writing. Other than this, it is the same great tire. Hope this helps.
