Hello all! The theme of this message is a common one; tire sizes...
I have a '98 XLT 4WD with recall tires. I want to put BFG 31X10.5/15's on, however, I have a few reservations.
First, this truck is primarily driven by my wife (I want her to have the safer of the two vehicles we own, also gas is an issue). Also this truck is driven primarily on the road.
I want the truck to look tougher than the stock appearance and also when we do go offroad it's usually driving through thick mud/sand (duck hunting/fishings/etc).
So here's the gist...will these tires be safe for primarily highway driving and not require a lift (which I don't really want to do).
Do these tires rub? (I know this is a frequented topic)
What about spare tire fit?
Also, what is torsion twist and shackles? (sorry if this sounds stupid)
I'm sort of in limbo on this issue!! I have no idea what to do!!!
Any feedback is greatly appreciated!!
Thanks is advance,
Mike H
