You would be alot better off w/ a 15x7 . Or 15x8 MAX . I've seen 10.5's on an 8" wheel and it looked funny . It had a real narrow tread width and it looked really buldged like it was gonna pop off the bead , yuck !
Stock is 15x7 . And you should'nt have any probs. w/ that set up . But in my opinion any wider wheel and you would . The wider the wheel the more the tire gets stretched ,( = weak bead) . I would recommend 8" wheel = 11.5- 12.5" tire and 10" wheel = 12.5" + Tire . You can do what you want but chances are it'll look funny and be unsafe . MHO
I don't know because I've got 15x8 wheels on there now (aftermarket) with some 235x75 tires. It looks fine to me. I really want to see some pictures of what it would look like. I might just have to drive 25 miles to have Discount Tire put them on for me.
And that's something I don't understand. They don't charge you to mount new tires onto new wheels and put them on your ride just to look at but if you are buying them they do......shouldn't it be the other way around?
We dont charge to mount tires that you buy from us..........of if you just want to see how they look...........We only charge if you get the tires else where and want us to install them...........
Just like any other type of shop would.
Oh, my bad! I just checked my receipt. I don't know why I thought that. I think it was another tire store in town that told me that right after I talked to Discount. Well, you're a tire expert then, What do you think about my setup? Will it work GTRIDER?
Also, I paid for a lifetime comp. spin balance, 47.96. Will this transfer over if I get new wheels and tires? Was that even worth the 47.96?
I agree with rockymntnhi, if you go with a 10" rim with 10.50s you stand a big chance of breaking the bead. It would really be a problem if you wheel your vehicle and air down at all. I ran 33"x12.50s on the stock 7" rims, but I would not recomend it. Some shops would not even mount them. I now have 8" rim and still run the 33"x12.50s. I have not broken a bead...yet, even with running 12 to 13 psi on the trails.
Unless you have bead lock wheels the 15x8 would be the max that I would suggest for off roading..........If the tire goes flat It will come off the wheel........It wouldnt look right.
