I have a 1996 Limited Explorer with the air ride suspension. The vehicle seems to sit lower than most Explorers (Eddie Bauer, XLT's, etc) due to the air ride. Is it possible to squeeze BFG Mud Terrain 31x10.5R15's under the fenders without rubbing. I should be fine in 4 wheel drive as the air ride lifts the vehicle but I'm not sure when it's in 2 wheel drive when it lowers back down? Has anyone tried this set up with the air ride suspension?

You should be able to squeeze them in without a lift.

If you want the best offroad performance though, you will need to do away with the air ride suspension. Meaning you will need 4 new non-air ride shocks, and a new rear leaf pack and probably new torsion bars. Do not try to lift the truck with the air ride system in place.
