Well, what do ya'll think? I'm looking at an early X, like 91-94, sport, 5spd.

I want to run 33x10.50 TSL Radials on the stock rims. I'm doing about 2" of lift, chopping the fenders until they fit. Any chance anyone has done this?? Lemme know what you think! :D

Didn't Dale from the RRORC board do this?
I think it's a great plan!:D

if your using stock rims before you get the 33" you might want to check the clearence between the tire and the inside of the fender well, on my Explorer running 33"x12.50" on stock and it looks really tight (havent had a chance to drive it yet) but in the rear it looks like if I flex it any its going to hit the inside of the well before hitting the top or the bodyflares

That's why I'll be running the 10.50" wide tire, not the 12.50. 12.50 might rub the rad arms, and will prolly rub the tub of the body in the rear.

Ranger X, yes, Dale did a similar thing, 'cept he had NO lift, and tin snipped the fenders and tubbed out the rear to fit 33x12.50's. it was UGLY, and I'm being nice :D It's far more ugly after the paint job and some "custom" bodywork. too bad Dale had to sell it :(

I have the duff 3" lift. I am going to put spacers in the front and do a soa in 3 weeks. I want to put on 33x10.50s. We'll see if they fit. i was thinking the same thing eith 10.50s it should have more power and take less of a toll on the drive train. ill give you an update when it happens.

ray hutchinson had a 2.5" rancho lift with 33x10.5x15 bfg mt at thaven... i know he know has something else... but his combo at thaven worked good

I'm gonna fit 33 12.50s with a 2.5" lift, 15x8 rims with 3.75 backspacing, and a little trimming. Though my X seems to be different than most for some reason.

 i wonder why? ;)

I had 33x10.5s test fitted on my 92 with stock rims with just f-150 seats and they didn't rub at all when turning just sitting on the ground, they may rub when turned and flexed, but just on the plastic inner well I'd imagine. Wider and less backspaced wheels WILL will be more difficult. With my new wheels (15x8, 3.75" of BS) my 31s rubbed the plastic out near the fender until I pulled it back some.
