360 back up camera recall 2020-2023 models - FSA 23S02

For one, you are not being compensated, so not sure where the quote is coming from.

In my case, I had no issues with the blue screen on my MY2020. In the process of updating modules, I regretfully included the recall image module update. Now I get the blue screen intermittently. The dealer didn't know I did it and asked me if I wanted to drop the car off for them to do it. I declined, so you definitely can decline it. Not knowing if this new recall is a definitive fix, I'm definitely not wasting my time and having it done any time soon. I'll wait until others provide feedback. I wouldn't be surprised to see Recall #3.
Sorry, forgot to include the link but here are similar arguments about the effects of ignoring a recall.

Recall for the reverse camera came in the mail today.

Hopefully your dealer can actually do it.
Reminds me, I need to follow up with mine & see if they have the update available yet. They told me to just call in every few weeks to see if they can perform the recall. :banghead:

Just talked to my local dealer.
Was told to wait until we get the actual letter in the mail, that they're sending the letters out regionally as parts are seeded to the local dealers.
Will have to make sure to add in the grainy camera image when they have it. The Explorer camera (front & rear, mirrors seem ok) are much lower quality image than our Expedition, especially at night.

FYI, I just read a post by a new member in another thread that said it's his phone causing a "flickering" in his camera if he has it near the console. Not the same as a blue screen though.

You know, I have a phone mount in the A/C vent on the left side of the screen.
Will see if relocating the phone has an effect.

I put my phone in the little slot under the stereo, zero affect to the screen. I'll have my recall done when I can get the rear HVAC controls done and my small list of other warranty things needing done. I haven't had a chance to get it to the dealer since I bought it.

Got my notice today also. Funny thing is I just had the update done on Monday.
Hopefully your dealer can actually do it.

Your dealer is off on his answer. When i had the update done no parts were needed. They just calibrated the IPMB to the latest.

:dunno:

Had the recall done this week. Everything is fine so far.

got the letter yesterday, meh...no hurry unless it goes **** up

There are so parts, it is a software update.

That's what they said a year ago but the software update didn't fix the problem so they replaced the camera.

Yes but the recall isn't replacement. Yours obviously had a defective camera but that's not what this recall is. Purely software.

We just got our recall letter this week. Probably will get it done, although we have not noticed the blue screen so far. I will have to look to see if the prior recall was performed while it was a lease vehicle; assume it was.
So this software update has nothing to do with the SYNC download that I attempted to do for the vehicle from the Ford site? In other words, will they only update the software specifically for the rear view camera?

This recall is only for the backup camera blue screen.

i'll wait till there's a 3rd recall and get it all done at the same time :D

I'm guessing that the last Sync download/update was not successful. Is that right? If so, you could ask the dealer and see if they will do it but keep in mind that they may charge you for it.

today was the first time i got the blue screen of death for about 2 seconds and it went back to normal when I was backing up

I had the latest recall update done on Feb 9 after 3 previous attempts to fix it. I have not had the recall notice as of yet but the dealer called me to advise they had an update for the latest recall.

I am still having issues since the latest recall repair.

Rear brake assist error message and the top portion of the screen is now all grey vs a blue area shown in the rear camera view shown previously.

I have not taken it back in yet.

Had mine done right after it came out at the end of January. Same as you, within a couple weeks it started going grey, then blue again later on. Often all cameras, not just rear. Took it back to the dealer and they said all modules had out of date software and updated them. Picked it up today and by the time I got it home it already had a grey screen putting it in the garage. Really getting frustrated with this.
