3rd brake light?

So riddle me this! How the hell do you get the third brake light off on 02 xls without removing the rear window?

2 screws and it pulls out. It lifts up and out. the connection for the wiring is on the left side of it, so you have to pull out right side first. Oh yeah I forgot, you have to disconnect the washer nozzle form its tubing. Make sure you don't let it fall into hatch frame.

i tried that the glass gets in the way

just life glass hatch slightly then brake light will come out then shut glass and pull out brake light. Don't worry it wont break. The third brake like just clears it . Don't be affraid to pull on it. You have to tilt it out. I was scared first time also, but have pulled it out few times for LED mod and messing with it.

thanks now i just gotta figure out why my washer nozzle is not working
