3rd dual cooling fan?

Turns out they already have done this in April 2012 when I was having MFT / navigation updated. So that didn't fix the issue either. I called am awaiting a callback from a regional customer service rep for Ford. I have 9K left on my warranty and I'm asking for an extension on my warranty specifically for this issue. They're also supposed to have engineering be in touch with the dealership to see if they can help them troubleshoot the issue. I have to take the vehicle in this week and leave it with them for an extended period of time so they can try to track it down and resolve it. It's really a shame, I enjoy everything about this vehicle except for this problem and it makes me wonder / worry what else is going to pop up, especially after reading all the threads on other owner experiences.
I doubt that they will extend the warranty. The only item that they have done that on that I'm aware of is the APIM. With your vehicle still being under the factory warranty I don't know if that will allow you to buy an ESP warranty. That is the first thing I bought in conjunction with the vehicle itself.
Good luck. Let us know how you make out.

My second cooling fan just died as well after the first was fixed under the TSB...

...I am completely fried with all the problems associated with this truck...

...So far during this VERY hot summer, my AC has intermittently started blowing warm / hot air and I've been back to the dealership twice over this issue...

Hi everyone,

I'm happy to do what I can to assist; send me your information via PM and I'll get started. Be sure to include your VIN, dealer, mileage, daytime phone number, and full name so I can get to work.

Thanks!

Crystal

We may be getting somewhere!

I spoke with someone who is a customer service manager for my region (not Crystal who posts here, but thank you for offering to look into this for me!). She made arrangements for engineers to speak with the local dealership service department after I noted that I've heard from others that there may be a blend door motor issue across several models / years. The dealership contacted me this afternoon to say that they were in contact with Ford and were directed to a "new" service bulletin regarding the blend door motors! It's been replaced already and am now waiting on them to reprogram the AC module component for the computer. I'm due to pick the vehicle up again tomorrow, and I'll follow up with more on this blend door motor issue if it doesn't resolve the problem.

In the meantime, I'm waiting on another callback from the regional customer service representative once this is resolved - we are going to discuss extended warranties on the vehicle as she stated that Ford wants to show me they will stand behind their product. I'll follow up with more on that too.

For others having this issue, have your dealership check for a bulletin about the blend door motor. Hopefully this fixes the problem.

There is a TSB listed in the 2011 - 2012 TSB sticky at the beginning of this forum.
The description seems to refer to the 2011 model.

It is; 12-1-8 DUAL AUTOMATIC TEMPERATURE CONTROL (DATC) - BLEND DOOR ACTUATOR INOPERATIVE

God luck.

Thanks Peter! I didn't see that before and apparently the dealership hadn't been aware of it either. It's fixed now and Ford stepped up and added additional warranty on to the vehicle to ease my mind... that's customer service!

I'm feeling hopeful this fixes the AC itself. Now if I can just figure out how to get rid of the musty AC smell upon startup (I found that thread and posted there :) )
