try the pressure regulator. mine was cloged and made me change my pump 4 or 5 times in two months befor i got off my lasy ass to fix it right. just pull off the return line and turn the key. if nothin comes out then change the reg.

o ya its about a $20 compared to a new pump and all the work involved

so how exactly does the fuel pressure regulator cause fuel pumps to stop working?

your fuel system is a return type so your fuel pump is either on or off. unlike a returnless system were the fump is regulated by the comp. so if your regulator is cloged and dosnt let the pressure to bypass it just keeps building up. and when it gets to max pressure it is just workin against itself. so something is bound to fail. usually the pump gears witch are usually made of plastic. it either my gears would strip or the motor would just spin in the gear.

well, on the napa site, the regulator is minimum $90, where'd u get the $20 from? rockauto?

its still $70 at rockauto

ok sorry it was about three years ago that i changed that and there are different part numbers for mine and yours. i went through my files and found that i paid 45 for it. it has gone up sense then. everywere i have looked yours is still about 10 more being around 70 or so. my bad

there's OBVIOUSLY ghosts in your gas tank. leave it out to dry for a month while they leave.

in the mean time, finish up and drive your pulsar. ;)

my pulsar's being stripped into a rally competition car now.

the rally cam works better that way ;)

funny thing is, i had trouble starting my dad's van today, my truck didn't start, and it took about 5 tries before katies van would start tonight (they came over for a bit). must be a haunted neighbourhood. stay away!

anyway, thank god for warranted fuel pumps. keep replacing them free!
and changing the fuel pressure regulator tomorrow too. also changing the drivers side brake caliper (it seized yesterday, the passengers side the week before seized), and now theres a tiny leak from the transmission. i don't think the shop tightened it enough.
