I have a RH rear seat out of a '94 4dr EB that I have considered modifying into a 3rd row seat. As you fellow 4dr owners know it has hinged seat brackets that might could be partially reused to make it fold forward. Otherwise I would fab a simple seat frame similar to a school bus "double seat" frame and just bolt through the floor with reinforcing plates under the floor with lap belts attached.

There's a guy on Craigslist near me who has a 3rd row for a 2nd gen explorer, for 80 bucks.

I would like to see what the seat looks like on CL. Was it an option? of all the 2nd gen that I have seen in the JYs, I have never seen one...

It's aftermarket...

I bought an aftermarket rear seat for a Wrangler once. It was made/sold by Wheel Horse. It was a total piece of crap. If you must have a 3rd row seat I like the way @5.0_Mounty did his. I didn't read his thread, but I hope he also reinforced the cargo area floor from underneath too. In an accident, the bolts would rip right out of the floor w/out reinforcement.
