4.0 airbox in 5.0 Explorer?

Hey guys - hoping someone can shed some light as I can't seem to get a concrete answer about this. Years ago, I pulled my stock airbox and installed an eBay MAF adapter and cone filter. I'm tired of the washing and re-oiling game and want to put a stock airbox back in. All I can seem to find around here are either trucks with the SOHC 4.0, or 5.0s with busted up airboxes. They look identical aside from the 'silencer' hanging off the front, which I plan to remove anyway, and V6 and V8 applications both call for the same air filter. Anyone here who's done a swap or has both and could take a look?

I have both and they look identical to me. I see no reason they should be different. What's the saying, if it looks like a duck... after all, it's just a plastic box to hold the air filter element.

Pretty sure my lower box is from a 5.0L.

Don't think it matters.

I bet they take the same air filter.

They do use the same filters.
