I will try to do that in the next day or two. To be honost it sounds alot better when its under a load like in normal driving conditions. When its in park and reved up it doesnt sound that great in my opinion but i will try to get another up close video tomarrow if i have time.

Well... after reading every post and watching every video.. I've come to one conclusion... No matter what you do, It still sounds like a 4.0L lol.

None of them really sound like I want so I'm probably just going to axe the cat and clamp on this cherry-bomb knock off muffler my buddy pulled off a '67 F-100 with an I-6.

The only way I'm going to get the sound I want is to change the motor lol.

It cracks me up when people think they can get a V6 to sound like a v8, a v6 will always be a v6.

The more it breaks in, the better it sounds. The sounds is similar to the Vortex I had, but is smoother sounding. I'm working on trying to get a camera to get some clips and pics up soon.

Dan

Hey Dan,
So your saying the sound of the Cherry bomb vortex is like the sound of flowmaster super 40?
Is as loud as a super 40 too?

They are about the same, and since the super 40 I'm running is true duals, its about the same otherwise the super 40 would have been quieter.

Ok Im uploading another clip, Im sorry about the crackling, the mic on the camera couldnt handle it lol. But gives you an Idea. I will post it in a few mins when its done up loading.

Hunterdan I agree with the statement you said about breaking in the muffler. Some thing I noticed with my super 44 it took a few weeks before it started sounding right. I know my brother in law put one on his Silvarado and he put about 4000 miles on his truck in less than a week (im not kidding at all lol) and around 3-4000 his truck sounded awsome. Mine wasnt nearly that long but I have noticed with the flowmasters they seem to need to be broken in before they sound right.

That sounds really good, I like it.

Dan

Thank you :D maby this saterday I will get some clips from inside the Truck going down the road so you can see what its like up in the drivers seat and how loud it is. Its really not that loud to be honost. I had a 84 Ranger with a 2.0L I4 and I think the 4 banger was actually louder with the Delta Flow 40 series. I meen you can hear it inside just fine but it doesnt have bad drone like most Flowmasters do.

sounds good charlie

I'm planning on true dual's with cherry bomb vortex's mufflers, without a balance pipe.
But i want to keep the option of supercharging open for the future.
So do i have to remove the Cat's or can i keep them?
And wich pipes should i run? dual 2.25" or dual 2.5"?
and from where should i run the pipes? from the back of the cat's?
or (if i have to lose the cat's) from the headers?
Are the OEM Headers good enough for supercharging?
Thanks,

Run 2.25" pipes and keep your cats, If you don't plan to run a balance pipe, you should really consider only running one dual in/dual out muffler. It really does help performance, and things sound better too.
