Hey guys... Muffler finally went after debating over and over I purchased a Thrust Welded chamber muffler. 2.5 in out.. I welded a flange in front and bolted it right up, and from the muffler ran it out under passenger rear door 2.5 in pipe. I did it this way so i can simply unbolt and return it to stock with no issues what so ever. It sounds great I LOVE it.. I'll get you guys a sound clip soon... ? for you maybe afboy can help.... what can i do with cats and not screw up my o2 sensors and still be legal.. well appear legal.

Well is it an SOHC or OHV

Hey buddy I'm sorry I should of mentioned I have the OHV and the 2 first cats are very small I'm not sure their purpose... If you remember the dumped exhaust you had mine just goes 90 and out the side of the truck.. same idea.... I am happy with it.

SOHC Hooker Aerochamber

This is my truck, short vid, kinda quiet. SOHC with 2.5" cat back to a dual in/single out Hooker Aerochamber. Also have a K&N FIPK intake and tune from BamaChips. Might make a better video, or try to, later today. Anyways, here it is.

4.0 ohv flowmaster 40 no cats?

does any one have a sound clip of the 4.0 ohv with a flowmaster original 40 and no cats. im curious to hear how it sound as i am thinking of taking off my cats. with the cats on it sounds ok but its just not loud enough for me.

Is i possible to install dual exhuast on a 2000 XLT 4.0? If so, what do i have to do?

Just went and had my exhaust done a few days ago, went with a dual in/dual out Super 40. So I now have true dual exhaust lightning style. Will post pics and clips in a few days. Sounds real loud and deep.

How are you likin that super 40? I personally love mine- favorite one by far

The more it breaks in, the better it sounds. The sounds is similar to the Vortex I had, but is smoother sounding. I'm working on trying to get a camera to get some clips and pics up soon.

where in the world can i find a dual in single out muffler that sounds good with an SOHC? not to mention moderately priced.

Flowmaster 50 SUV, Cherry Bomb Vortex are just the two that I have that sounded the best. The Cherry Bomb comes as a single in, dual outlet, but can be reversed to dual inlet single outlet. I picked up my vortex from Pepboys for about $65 after they priced matched it to autozone's website. I don't think Autozone carries it in stock either, but pepboys did. Try the Cherry bomb part numbers, 88106, 88107, 88108. The flowmaster part number is 524553.

did u get sound clip yet dan or stilll trying to get a camera

Still trying to get a hold of a camera and the time to do it. Will post it as soon as I get one.

Im still working to get a sound clip of mine with the super 44, now that the muffler is broken in it sounds alot better. A buddy at work has a 4.0 I6 Wrangler with a super 40 on it and my Explorer is alot deeper sounding than his wrangler. But alot of that has to depend on the motor, I dont think its the muffler as much as it is my engine and my , lets just say lack there of, cats.

3" FlowMaster

has anyone put 3" Flowmaster 40 series cat back exhaust on a 99' 4.0 xlt 2wd?
