4.0! Help! ME ASAP TURn it into a BEAST!!!!!!

Hey all... Okay i got a 2003 Explorer 4dr Eddie bauer ... v6 4.0. I got an IMCO Extreme Series Muffler... http://hileri.com/?pageid=50844 thats the link if u dont know what kind of muffler im talking about... It has no internal baffles... I had Flowmaster 40 series and it sucked... made my explorer sound like a rice rocket after 2rpms... :thumbdwn: So i was told about the IMCO... which is by far a much better muffler.. BUT the problem is this... I Understand its a v6 and im never gonna get it to sound like a v8 so dont reply tellin me this... i know that... My question is what can i do besides headers to get more sound out of my Explorer? Should i just cut my muffler out? and put a straight pipe there? or will it sound to raspey nd ricey.. or does my 2003 explorer have a resonator? maybe i could cut that out... Cuz my muffler has a nice deep tone... But i still want more... becuase when you are drivin lightly (touchin the gas lightly) it sounds crapy and stockish.. when u floor it, all hell breaks loose and it sounds good.. but on the highway u cant even tell its there..
So if you got a 4.0 and you made your truck sound like an absolute beast then PLEASE RESPOND ASAP! Or if u know for a fact that my 2003 4.0 has a resonator in the exhuast let me know that too.. so i can try and get it removed or maybe one of u already had it removed... ANY HELP will be Greatly appreciated...! thanks in advance!!!!!!!!!!!

The intake is great... YOU can actually hear that over my muffler at wide open throtle.. Thats why im asking about a muffler delete or if the truck has a resonator!!!!!!! HELPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP

I got a 96 with a Super 40 and i love it, my key for more sounds was a bigger pipe, 2.5 inch with a 3inch tip and its relativley straight, no bends or anything. I also removed the cats which really helped the sound!

I wanted more sound... by Removing the Resanator.. if it had one or maybe a complete muffler delete.. but not sure it i take off the muffler if it would be so ricy

I bought the Bomz filter kit from ebay, replaced my tubing with 3" PVC, and put on the BBK TB. Haven't swapped out the MAF out.

The largest gain was from removing the airbox and putting on the conical filter. The real reason for putting on the piping was my stock tube was beat up and would fit my BBK TB.

Ok for hevymill or w.e or name is.. Tellin me to get under my truck and look is no help and a waste of space. I'm not a mechanic so I educated answers as in they have done it to there truck nd have had good results. I asked about a resonator... And if I can remove it. I aslo asked if I shuld jus take my muffler off nd run a straight pipe. From ppl that have done it... Not from ppl that jus give me stupid input if u can't help don't post. Getting bak to the basics hopefully SOMEONE CAN HELP...

1) does a 2003 expo have a resonator in the exhaust sys?

1st, How old are you 14, dreaming of "pimping" your mom's ride?

2nd, Buy a new truck because your not going to turn the 4.0 into a "Beast", it's going to be ricey no matter what you do to it. The V8 has better grunt, should have got a V8.

3rd, Instead of *****ing at someone for telling you the obvious, by climbing under your truck, why don't you take a breath, and slow down with the sentence fragments.

4th, Here maybe if I add 8 or 9 smilies to the post I might get the reaction I was looking for a little faster. Oh...and lay off the CAPS LOCK.

yo killaexpo i wouldn't recommend putting a straight pipe because it sounds like a broken honda believe me i had it for about 3 months and it was horrible and bout the resonator i wish someone would give us the answer to that question

Not some one sayin oh get the v8. Which is the most retarted thing I ever herd... And not some freak looking for a reaction becuz they are bored. Oh the oh look under ur car.. Why is it so hard for ppl to mind the own? If u can't help then end it... Don't post...
Now king explorer... From what I was told somewhere else is every car has a resonator... Jus can't seem to find mine... So maybe someone that can acutally help will respond... Thanks for the ppl that actually HELP... Oh P.S I CAN TYPE IN CAPS IF I WANT... =)
