Well, I'm getting towards the end of putting another SOHC into my explorer, and the problem that I'm having is that the bottom two bellhousing bolts are too short. All of the bolts that we pulled out were the same length, except for one shouldered bolt that was shorter. I am using the original oil pan that came out of the car also, but still, the bolts seem to be about a half an inch too short to thread into the pan like they are supposed to.
Does any one know why?
