I was in to my Ford dealer today to see about having the kit installed to stop the timing chain rattle I have had for the past few years. They quoted $1000+ for labour. (Shop rate of $110 and 10 hours) They told me they lend out the cam timing tool for free to anyone who wants to do it themselves.
I then called a rural Ford dealer, and the service advisor (girl) said $500 according to the Mitchell manual. $75 per hour shop rate.
You may want to check with your local dealer to see if they have the same policy for DIY'ers
