I am looking for a dual exhaust system for my 01 Sport, I have seen them on sports on the net but i can not find anyone who sells them. Do I need to get a muffler with single outlet in and dual outlet out and have a muffler shop mandrel bend the pipes to fit? or can i just buy a system and install it myself. I am fairly new to the explorer world...i am only used to my 2 Mustang GT's, taking them apaprt and putting them back together. Thanks for any info..

Easy enough to just buy a muffler and bring it to a local exhaust shop. They can put in dual tips for you no problem. Don't know of any place that has a dual cat-back for your car. BTW what Mustangs did you own? I have a 99 GT and had an 89 GT.

I have a 91 GT and a 94 GT Convertible. I am about to buy another one...i'm looking for another 5.0L hardtop(95/95).

I will just but a single inlet-dual outlet and let them mandrel bend the pipes for me.

I've been thinking about this too and like the idea of having dual exhaust thing goin I think it would be cool... still debating though....

Xplorersporto1 hey the exhaust on the x looks bad ass what kind of exhaust are u running and how much did that all cost.(pipes, tips, etc)

biteme, he said that wasnt his truck, but he wanted that look...... my guess is that that is just a dual outlet muffler with shop bent pipes.....

Correct, that is not my car that is the look I want. I am going to purchase a single inlet dual outlet muffler and let a shop mandrel bend the pipes. Does anyone know how much this could cost? Thanks.

Check first.
I ordered a dual in dual out for my 2000 Sport buy lo and behold could not run the dual. No, room cause the back end of the Ex is so short.

Really, OK....i'll make sure i go to a muffler shop before i order anything. I notice you are from glen burnie, i just came past there from baltimore a little while ago.

How about what GaSouthern is running...he has the dual rear exit side system, couldnt I use that and have the pipes mandrel bent to be stright and then cut them shorter and add some nice tips on there?

The one on the left side is actually between the frame and the leaf spring, you cant get them to go out the corners without doing that. I dont like it all that much just because how it is between the leaf spring and frame, tends to rattle a bit.

Yeah !! I thought that was you !! :D

Any "good" muffler shop should be able to bend the pipe to fit. I paid a shop $100. for the install w/my muffler.
